Problem Note 59827: The QUANTREG procedure issues "ERROR: Failure loading the optimization extension"

You must have either SAS/IML® or SAS/OR® software installed in order to use the efficient interior point algorithm in PROC QUANTREG. When the ALGORITHM=IPM option is specified in the procedure statement and neither of these additional software products is installed, the procedure issues:
ERROR: Failure loading the optimization extension
There is no circumvention for this problem.
